Tickets for Obama Speech at Invesco Field

On August 6th, the Democratic National Convention Committee said Coloradans and other westerners will get the majority of tickets for Senator Barack Obama’s presidential nomination acceptance speech in Denver the final night of the convention. The 60,000 tickets were gone in less than a day. Bente Birkeland reports for Rocky Mountain Community Radio.

If the Obama campaign screened ticket applicants to assure attendance, but DID NOT do background checks, how can it be assured in the least that one of the many wackos (recently inspired to greatness by the extreme Rightist “Stop the Anointed One” talking point) will not “open up the process” by smuggling in a high-velocity weapon to greet the Anointment?
If the “background” checking is left to august authorities such as the FBI and the Secret Service (with questionable credentials relating to JFK, RFK, MLK anointments) who will check the checkers?

I was told my husband & I would receive tickets to go to see
Obama’s speech at Invesco Field. We live here in Colorado and have
not gotten any tickets as of today August 18th. This is very upsetting
since I did much volunteer work and am Barack’s number #1 fan!
We have had signs on our lawn since he first spoke! Have made many
many phone calls and donated plenty! I assumed doing all of this and
being here in Colorado I would definitely get a couple of tickets!
Really very sad and disappointing!

Maybe if you had given $1000/ticket you would have gotten them already. It seems a number of the “free” tickets were in fact sold to high level contributors. So much for the little people.

I still need tickets to the SPEECH…We apparently didn’t get enough tickets to share in Nevada for the Speech. I know I didn’t get one, …yet. But we’ll keep trying to turn this state BLUE this year anyway, and we’re very close to doing it. I’ll just go to Denver and hope to find one there. Maybe I can trade for one??? Sorry, I don’t have any Broncos tickets….Think anyone might want to trade for a Fiesta Bowl ticket, or Orange Bowl ticket, or BCS Championship ticket, or even a Michigan-Notre Dame ticket???? ANYONE???? How about it???…I’ll trade football for a Speech….OBAMA/BIDEN ‘08.
