Activist and organizer with Recreate 68 says that the heavy police presence during the DNC is the main reason for low protester turn out. He spoke Monday with KGNU’s Maeve Conran about the lower than expected turnout to protests at the DNC.

    My one observation is that it is not police presence that caused low turnout - it didn’t stop anyone in NYC for the Republican convention. Rather, it is that people actually have faith that Obama represents a new generation in American politics - not like Hubert Humphrey back in ‘68.
