After a lengthy legal battle, on August 6, U.S. District Court Judge Marsha Krieger dismissed a suit brought by the Colorado ACLU on behalf of citizen groups seeking to demonstrate within sight and sound of the delegates attending the Democratic National Convention, ruling in favor of security needs asserted by the City of Denver and the U.S. Secret Service over First Amendment rights.
